Malavasi and Leo-Z, with whom Elisa records in Bologna the other songs of her upcoming album due to be called "Asile", which is actually "Elisa" reversed. "Asile's world" is released on May the 5th 2000, preceded by "The Gift", a single with great pull dedicated to Elisa's mother. The album, which marks an astonishing artistic turning point, stands up to the best international productions thanks to the innovative artistic ideas and the way sound were developed. Up to today, the record has sold more than 250,000 units and has given two more great singles to the radios: "Happiness is home" and "Asile's world". But this is not the end of the record's story. to take part to the 51st Sanremo Festival with the song "Luce (Tramonti a nord-est)", written by Elisa during December 2000 with Zucchero's help with the Italian lyrics. Elisa is accompanied on stage by the strings of Solis String Quartet; success rushes in, sudden and well deserved. Elisa triumphs in Sanremo 2001 and a wonderful video is shot in two versions by Luca Guadagnino. By now the time has come to start working on "Asile's world"'s successor, once again with Corrado Rustici, producer of "Luce (tramonti a nord-est)". Two months of recording sessions in the U.S., a few weeks for mixing and the album is ready, made of songs written by Elisa during the many journeys
